Benchmark Testing

What is Benchmark Testing?

To provide a quantifiable baseline to measure future improvement against. We begin benchmark testing by recruiting a large sample. This type of testing assists in prioritizing critical areas of usability improvement and gives all stakeholders an understanding of the current state.

Examples of measures include:
Stop watch laying face-up on the concrete, showing time as a measurement of benchmark testing.
Time on Task
A man standing on a cliff at dusk with arms outstretched, showing success as a measurement of benchmark testing.
Success Rates
Vanilla ice cream cone dropped on a sidewalk, showing user error counts as a measurement of benchmark testing
User Error Counts
Worksheet with statistics listed in a table, showing user satisfaction ratings as a measurement of benchmark testing
